SSU Professor Nick Geron will discuss his research on residential urban tree planting in environmental justice neighborhoods in mid-sized Massachusetts cities like Salem and his work with the Department of Conservation and Recreation Greening the Gateway Cities Program. Professor Lisa Delissio has been studying a forgotten arboretum, a living tree and shrub museum, at a public cemetery in north Salem and will discuss her work to rediscover and protect the international collection of trees and shrubs, some of them rare, at this 55-acre property.
