Zoom - Recycling and Plastics - Community Conversations with State Representative Kristin Kassner

Join us for a comprehensive virtual discussion of what we can do to reduce plastic waste. Rep. Ciccolo, co-chair of the Zero Waste Caucus, has filed a number of bills to reduce waste of plastic and polystyrene takeout containers, plastic cutlery, bottles, bags and more. As we’ve seen with local ordinances, we can make change; let’s talk about making transformative change across the entire state to eliminate harmful plastic waste from our environment.

Representative Ciccolo has sponsored the following bills on recycling/waste:

H766: An Act to "Skip the Stuff" to Reduce Restaurant Waste
H767: An Act to Reduce Single Use Plastics in the Environment
H768: An Act to Ensure Plastic Bottle Recycling
H3157: An Act Restoring the Environmental Fund with Unclaimed Bottle Deposits
H3676: An Act to Update the Bottle Bill

Representative Ciccolo is a member of the Joint Committees of Environment and Natural Resources, State Administration and Regulatory Oversight, Elder Affairs, and Children, Families and Persons with Disabilities. She also serves as the House co-chair of the Zero Waste Caucus and the Trails Caucus. Representative Ciccolo’s climate-related priority areas include waste reduction and diversion, food waste, and sustainable transportation, including the expansion of pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure and the development of transportation finance solutions.
