IMPORTANT NEW CHANGES FOR PUMPKIN SMASH 2024
We appreciate your patience as we figure out new ways to keep this event happening!
1. PRE-REGISTER TODAY. It will help minimize the waiting and maximize the smashing!
ALL ADULTS MUST REGISTER - NO entry without a registration
Children under 18 must be registered with an adult
Check your calendar and register ASAP using the link below
2. PUMPKIN COLLECTION SITES. We’ll need pumpkins to smash! Kindly remove candles and plastic accessories, then drop pumpkins between Friday Nov 1 and the day of the event (ASAP after Halloween please) at the following sites:
Directly into the New Entry Collection Bins stationed at the new community gardens parking lot at 779 Cabot Street.
PREFERRED COLLECTION SITE
Between sunrise and sunset any day between Fri 11/1 and Sat 11/9
Any Beverly Elementary School: Ayers, Centerville, Cove, Hannah, North Beverly
School community: Mon 11/4 through Wed 11/6 any time of day
At large community: Mon 11/4 or Wed 11/6 after 3pm, or bring any time on Voting Day 11/5!
3. NEW PARKING PLAN
Onsite parking is NOT possible.*
We have prepared two off-site parking locations nearby. You’ll select your parking location in your registration
East Gate of Beverly Airport (50 L P Henderson Road), with shuttle service to and from the ¾ mile to the event. Make sure to sign up for the shuttle while registering. Two ~25 passenger shuttle buses will run continuously throughout the event. These vehicles do not require car seats. They are padded front and back and they also have seat belts if needed for children.
Birch Plains Field (99 L P Henderson Rd), a ¼ mile walk along sidewalks and with police detail to cross Cabot Street to the event. NO shuttle available from this parking lot.
The event remains on the property of New Entry Sustainable Farming Project, but the new entrance for both Beverly Airport shuttle riders and Birch Plains walkers is via the new community gardens located at 779 Cabot Street.
In order to manage crowd flow, we ask you to select an arrival time in your registration. Please do your best to arrive at the parking lot within half an hour of your selected time.
After arriving at your selected parking lot and time, you’ll check in with an attendant who will confirm your reservation, provide a hand stamp, and then you will be free to enter the shuttle/event. Advanced registrations (those before Saturday November 9) will be placed on an expedited check-in list. If you register after this list is printed, you risk waiting in the dreaded day-of registration line, where we will do our best to accommodate you despite potential delays.
* A very small number of accessible on-site parking spaces are available on a first come, first served basis, with advanced registration, and an official placard. Understand that this event is in a bumpy field at a busy farm, and therefore regrettably NOT a fully accessible event. Everyone attends at their own risk. Email julia@greenbeverly.org for details and accessible parking reservation.
