  • This local gardener grows insect host plants from seeds that are all native to the Northeast such as milkweed. They use only rainwater, organic potting soil, and sunshine in their gardednng along with zero human-made chemicals. Grown in Ipswich and sold at a seasonal farm stand in Hamilton, these plants provide habitats for species like the monarch butterfly and can brighten up any lawn or garden.

Organizations & Experiences

  • The Cabot is a rare surviving example of the “movie palaces” of the 1920s - only about 250 of an original 20,000+ remain. Today, the theater is a vibrant and meaningful arts destination, and has demonstrated wonderful commitment to building a more sustainable downtown economy and experience - they’ve switched from single-use plastic water bottles to filtered fresh water served in compostable cups, performed an energy-efficient HVAC renovation, are diligent about recycling and composting waste on site, and have plans for even more efforts.
